GPSC unveiled G-CELL, First made in Thailand semi-solid battery cells.

On December 25, 2020, Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman, Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, together with executives and employees, celebrated the launch of G-Cell, Thailand’s first semi-solid battery cells. The batteries were manufactured at an energy storage unit production plant, which is worth over 1.1 billion baht and has a first-phase production capacity of 30 MWh. The plant, which is located on a plot of 12 rai in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Muang District, Rayong Province, is expected to start regular production by the second quarter of 2021. At the initial production phase, the battery cells will be used for mobility and stationary purposes and supplied to industrial plants, charging stations and transportation businesses such as EV Tuk Tuks and EV buses and other applications.
